LJ Eads is a highly accomplished professional with extensive experience in research intelligence, data analytics, and technology development. With a career spanning various leadership roles in both the private and public sectors, LJ has made significant contributions to advancing the field of data science and intelligence analysis.
Currently serving as the Director of Research Intelligence at Parallax Advanced Research Corp, LJ leads a team of data scientists and analysts in delivering cutting-edge data analytics products to state and federal customers. In this role, LJ oversees the development and growth of externally funded research and technology development projects, utilizing state-of-the-art methods in natural language processing, machine learning, network science, and graph analytics.
LJ's entrepreneurial spirit led to the establishment of Data Abyss. Through Data Abyss, LJ has developed innovative big data platforms, software-as-a-service, and data-as-a-service capabilities focused on collecting, analyzing, and visualizing Chinese science and technology (S&T) data. LJ's unique platform offerings empower users to search and identify valuable technical intelligence, aiding analysts in identifying targeted and emerging adversary threats. LJ's expertise in risk assessment includes developing processors that identify entity risks based on associations with China's People’s Liberation Army and other relevant lists.
Prior to these roles, LJ held positions at prestigious organizations such as Booz Allen Hamilton, MITRE, and the United States Air Force. As a Senior Lead Technologist at Booz Allen Hamilton, LJ provided technical advisory services to the Air Force Research Laboratories (AFRL/RCO) for their digital transformation initiatives. LJ played a key role in strategizing and planning AFRL's digital transformation efforts, working towards establishing an integrated digital ecosystem.
During LJ's tenure at MITRE, LJ served as a Project Leader and Lead Data Scientist, leading initiatives to advance AI capabilities for the intelligence community. LJ developed analytic frameworks to reduce analytical time and deployed large, distributed cluster environments for critical technology analysis. Additionally, LJ contributed as a Lead Data Engineer and Multi-Discipline Systems Engineer, working on various projects related to intelligence analysis, cyber warfare, and weapon system prototype development.
Before transitioning to the private sector, LJ served in the United States Air Force, where LJ gained valuable experience as a Space Network Warfare Analyst and SIGINT Analyst. LJ's responsibilities included conducting detailed signals intelligence analysis, developing procedures for signal exploitation, and providing critical intelligence support to high-level decision-makers.
